Weir looked headed for a top-10 finish by the 13th hole, which he birdied. But bogeys at the par-5 16th and the par-4 17th dashed his chances and led to a final-round 71 and a top-20 finish.

A hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth highlighted Weir's third round, but bogeys at the 15th and 17th broke the momentum he gained with the ace and left him in need of a final-round rally.

Canada's favorite son started on the back nine and reach 4 under and a share for the lead at one point, but things started to fall apart when he hit the front nine with two quick bogeys and a third on his last hole of the day. At 1 under, he's seven shots off the lead and will need a better performance Friday if he wants a chance at winning this week.
